Brazzaville · FCBB
BZVMaya-Maya International Airport · Central Africa
Brazzaville sits 5 nm across the Congo River from Kinshasa — the same metropolitan area, different country and different operational regime.
FCBB exists in the LFS network as the Republic of Congo entry point and as the cleaner-paperwork alternative to FZAA. Republic of Congo permit processing is faster than DRC, customs documentation is lighter, and the field's smaller traffic volume makes turnarounds predictable. Oil-sector traffic (Total, Eni, Chevron offshore rotations) is the dominant operating base.
Operations notes
FCBB has one runway (05/23) at 3,400 m — accepts the full bizjet and freighter fleet. GA parks at a six-stand apron on the south side. Approaches are ILS CAT I RWY 05 and RNAV RWY 23.
Customs is co-located with the GA terminal. Republic of Congo e-Visa is available for many nationalities; visa-on-arrival applies for OECD nationals. Cabotage is restrictive for revenue movements.
FCBB is the preferred station for oil-sector rotations into Pointe-Noire (FCPP) — closer to Brazzaville-based operators and lighter on customs friction. LFS routes oil-sector crew via FCBB by default.
No civil slot coordination. Stand booking direct. Traffic density is low; apron is uncongested year-round.
Republic of Congo e-Visa or visa-on-arrival for most nationalities. Crew clearance sub-8 minutes; passenger clearance 10–15 minutes. Documentation is significantly lighter than DRC.
Jet A-1 supplied by SNPC (Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo) via bowser. Supply is reliable; pricing reflects regional logistics. LFS confirms stock 24 hours prior.
Radisson Blu M'Bamou Palace and Olympic Palace are 15–25 minutes from FCBB. LFS arranges airside escort and SUV transfer. Security posture is moderate — less restrictive than Kinshasa.
Weather & seasonal factors
Tropical climate with two rainy seasons (Oct–Dec, Feb–May). Heavy convective storms similar to FZAA but lower frequency. Dry season (Jun–Sep) is the operating sweet spot.

Brazzaville (FCBB) — frequently asked
Why operate into FCBB instead of FZAA?
Lighter customs documentation, faster permit processing, less complex security posture. Oil-sector rotations default to FCBB.
Can I reposition by ground from FCBB to FZAA?
Yes — Congo River ferry crossing 30–45 minutes plus border control. LFS coordinates if cross-border movement is required.
Is Republic of Congo e-Visa sufficient for crew?
Yes for OECD and most ECCAS member nationalities. Visa-on-arrival as backstop.
Is there freight capacity at FCBB?
Yes — 3,400 m runway accepts heavy freight. LFS handles oil-sector charter freight regularly.
LFS handles FCBB 24/7.
