Abu Dhabi Aircraft Ground Handling at Zayed International

LFS coordinates aircraft ground handling and trip support at Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi (AUH / OMAA). Send your aircraft, route and schedule so handling, permissions, parking, fuel and crew arrangements can be reviewed together. Airport and provider acceptance are confirmed for the individual movement.

Choosing the correct Abu Dhabi airport

Zayed International Airport is the airport identified by AUH and OMAA. Older trip files may still call it Abu Dhabi International Airport; check the code rather than relying on the old name. An enquiry for an Abu Dhabi ground handling company should specify this airport, the flight purpose and the required arrival or departure time. A city name alone does not identify a terminal, handler or approved parking location.

Al Bateen Executive Airport is a separate airport, identified by AZI / OMAD. Do not transfer an AUH handling confirmation to Al Bateen, or assume that a quotation for one covers the other. Airport selection should reflect passenger destination, aircraft requirements, operating permissions and actual acceptance. This page covers OMAA; the UAE permit guide covers the wider permission process, while the UAE flight-support directory helps place the airport in a regional itinerary.

What LFS coordinates at OMAA

An aircraft movement needs more than a name on a handling request. LFS can review the services requested, liaise with the proposed provider and assemble a trip-support plan around the operator's schedule. The local handler performs the accepted ramp and passenger services; airport management controls airport access and facilities; the responsible authority determines operating permissions. LFS coordination does not replace those organisations or their approval processes.

Specify whether the operation is a scheduled passenger service, an ad-hoc charter, a corporate flight, a technical stop or a medical movement. The service package and required documents can differ. Request marshalling, towing or pushback, ground power, air conditioning, aircraft stairs, baggage handling, water and lavatory services individually where needed. Equipment must suit the aircraft type and stand. An online service description is not confirmation that every item is available for every flight.

Handling provider and terminal confirmation

The airport operator and the appointed ground handler are different roles. This page does not assign an exclusive handler or imply that LFS operates every service itself. Ask for written confirmation of the actual handling provider, arrival meeting point, passenger processing arrangements and escalation contact. If an operator already holds a handling agreement, include its account details and identify which services remain outside that contract.

A business-aviation request should explain whether passengers need discreet processing, a lounge, assisted mobility or a particular vehicle arrangement. These are requests to confirm, not guaranteed privileges. Flight crew should receive the agreed terminal and reporting location before departure. If passengers and crew are using different facilities, the transport plan must name both. Never infer access to a royal, diplomatic or VIP facility from the aircraft registration or the purpose stated in a web enquiry.

Permissions, schedule coordination and changes

Landing permission, airport schedule coordination and handling acceptance are separate matters. The UAE GCAA's published entry rules distinguish airport landing permission from the national aviation authority's functions. LFS reviews the applicable process for the airport and flight rather than treating a UAE overflight approval as authority to land at AUH. The operator should disclose registration, operator identity, routing, flight purpose and requested dates consistently across its documents.

The UAE AIP publishes OMAA's schedule-coordination arrangements. The applicable submission and acceptance process must be checked for the movement; a description of the airport's coordination level is not a blanket promise of a slot. See slots and PPR coordination for the distinction between these approvals. Do not depart on the assumption that requesting a time reserves it. Changes to date, aircraft, routing or passenger purpose may require revised submissions and renewed provider acceptance.

Parking, ground time and aircraft suitability

State the expected on-block and off-block times in UTC, together with the planned parking duration. A fuel-only stop, an overnight aircraft stay and a multi-day passenger visit create different stand and support requirements. Confirm whether towing is expected, whether the aircraft can remain on the arrival stand and whether an engineer or flight crew must attend. Long parking should be accepted in writing rather than inferred from an available arrival time.

Current aerodrome data, declared distances, pavement strength, stand limitations, obstacles and NOTAMs belong in the operator's dispatch assessment. This guide deliberately does not convert a published runway length into a claim that an aircraft can operate at maximum weight. Temperature, wind, runway condition, aircraft configuration and operator procedures affect performance. Flight planning support can support the preparation, but the operator retains responsibility for aircraft performance and the decision to operate.

Jet A-1 uplift and commercial checks

For OMAA fuel coordination, provide the requested quantity and unit, the required uplift time and any existing fuel agreement or card. The fuel release should name the airport, aircraft registration, accepted supplier and billing party. Request the price basis, currency, taxes, into-plane fees and any minimum quantity or call-out terms before accepting the offer. A historic price band is not a firm quotation for the travel date.

Fuel timing should fit the actual turnaround sequence. Advise whether passengers may be on board during refuelling and ask the handler and supplier to confirm the applicable safety procedure. The operator determines trip fuel and reserves; the supplier's acceptance determines the uplift arrangement. For a technical stop, keep crew processing, passenger movement and fuel delivery aligned. A fuel release alone does not prove that parking, permission or handling is confirmed.

Crew logistics and passenger readiness

Send crew names, document details and the intended length of stay through the agreed secure request journey. Entry eligibility depends on nationality, passport, residency and flight circumstances; do not assume that every crew member can enter on the same basis. Clarify whether crew will stay airside, leave the airport, join another flight or rest overnight. The handler should confirm the practical arrival and departure processing arrangements for the accepted operation.

For crew hotels and transport, provide room count, rest requirements, check-in timing and the correct airport meeting point. Allow for the transfer between the terminal and accommodation without promising a fixed journey time. If a departure is rescheduled, revise the transport booking and room extension together. Special meals, mobility assistance and baggage requirements should be included early enough for the relevant providers to confirm availability.

Medical flights and short-notice requests

A medical movement requires the airport handling plan to connect with the clinical transport plan. Identify stretcher needs, ambulance access, aircraft-door height and ground equipment, and provide the responsible medical coordinator's contact. Patient details should only be shared through an appropriate agreed channel. LFS's role is aviation-support coordination; the treating team and operator remain responsible for clinical suitability and patient carriage.

Short-notice enquiries are assessed against current authority and provider requirements. No universal approval time is published here, and urgency does not remove landing, parking, immigration or safety obligations. For a changed medical departure time, reconfirm the ambulance, handler and accepted operating window together. The Middle East medevac support page explains the wider coordination scope without treating a request as an approved flight.

What to include in an Abu Dhabi quotation request

Use the existing LFS request form to send registration, aircraft type, MTOW where relevant, operator name, arrival and departure airports, UTC dates and times, passenger and crew numbers, flight purpose and expected parking duration. List handling equipment, fuel uplift, catering, hotel and transport needs separately. Include any existing permits, accepted schedule references or contracts, and explain whether this is a one-off movement or a recurring programme.

Ask for an itemised response identifying confirmed services, provisional arrangements, exclusions and third-party charges. A useful trip file records the provider, contact, reference and acceptance status for each major service. Before departure, check that the registration, date and airport agree across permissions, schedule acceptance, handling and fuel release. This is more actionable than relying on an all-inclusive promise or a generic turnaround estimate. Keep a record of revisions so each organisation works from the same final plan.

Abu Dhabi flight-support questions

Is AUH the same airport as OMAA?

Yes. AUH is the IATA code and OMAA is the ICAO code for Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. Al Bateen is a different airport. Use the correct airport code on permits, handling requests and transport instructions.

Does LFS act as the airport authority or exclusive handler?

No. LFS coordinates the requested aviation-support services. The appointed handler, airport operator and relevant authority have separate responsibilities. The provider and accepted scope should be named in your flight confirmation.

Can a runway length confirm aircraft acceptance?

No. Use current AIP data, NOTAMs and approved aircraft performance calculations, together with airport and stand acceptance. A runway dimension alone does not establish payload, maximum-weight suitability or equipment availability.

How quickly can Abu Dhabi handling be arranged?

There is no universal lead time for every operation. Submit the complete flight details as early as possible. The desk can review urgency, but authority approvals, provider acceptance and parking must still be confirmed for the proposed schedule.
