Services

Flight planning built by dispatchers, not templates.

International flight planning, ICAO filing, weather briefing, NOTAM analysis and fuel computation — one desk, 24/7, for every leg you operate.

What the service covers

Every element of an international flight plan, handled in one place

Route construction & optimisation

Routes are built against current airway availability, RAD restrictions, airspace closures and overflight cost, then compared on time, fuel and charge so the operator sees the trade-off rather than a single answer.

ICAO flight plan filing

Item 10 and 18 equipment coding, PBN capability, EET breakdowns, alternates and remarks are checked before transmission, and the plan is re-filed whenever the schedule or aircraft changes.

Weather briefing

A consolidated briefing pack: TAF and METAR for departure, destination and alternates, SIGMET and AIRMET hazards, significant weather and wind charts at the candidate cruise levels.

NOTAM analysis

Raw NOTAM output is filtered to what actually affects the leg — runway and taxiway limitations, navaid outages, airspace reservations, curfews and PPR — and delivered as a short list, not a dump.

Fuel & payload planning

Trip, contingency, alternate, final reserve and tankering computations against real uplift prices, so fuel decisions are made where the price advantage actually exists.

24/7 watch & re-planning

The duty desk tracks the flight from filing to on-blocks and issues revised routings or alternates when weather, closures or ATC flow measures change the picture.

How a plan is produced

From trip request to filed plan

Planning starts from the aircraft, not the route. Performance data, equipment fit and crew limitations set what is legally and practically flyable; only then are candidate routings built against the current airway structure and airspace availability for the day of operation.

Each candidate is costed on block time, trip fuel and enroute navigation charges. Where an overflight state imposes a permit lead time that the schedule cannot absorb, the routing is rejected before it reaches the crew rather than after filing fails.

The selected plan is coded and filed with the relevant ATC authorities, with Item 10 and 18 content checked against the aircraft's actual approvals. Slot and PPR requirements at both ends are raised in the same pass so nothing surfaces late.

The briefing pack — route, weather, NOTAMs, fuel and alternates — reaches the crew as a single document. After departure the duty dispatcher keeps the leg under watch and re-plans when the operating picture changes.

Questions

Flight planning FAQ

What is included in an LFS flight planning service?

Every plan includes route construction and optimisation, ICAO flight plan filing with the relevant ATC authorities, a full weather briefing (TAF, METAR, SIGMET, significant weather and wind charts), NOTAM analysis for departure, destination, alternates and the enroute structure, fuel and payload computation, and an ETOPS or extended-range assessment where the aircraft and route require it.

How far in advance should a flight plan be filed?

ICAO flight plans are normally filed at least three hours before estimated off-block time, and earlier where slots, overflight permits or PPR are involved. LFS files as soon as the trip is confirmed and re-files automatically when the schedule, route or aircraft changes.

Do you handle overflight permits alongside the flight plan?

Yes. The route is screened for every FIR it crosses and the permit requirements for each state are raised with the plan, so filing and permits move together rather than sequentially.

Which weather products are used in the briefing?

TAF and METAR for departure, destination and alternates; SIGMET and AIRMET for hazardous conditions; significant weather and upper-wind charts for the cruise levels under consideration; and volcanic ash or tropical advisories when active on the route.

Can you re-plan in flight?

The duty dispatcher monitors the flight and issues revised routings, level changes or alternate recommendations when weather, airspace closures or ATC flow measures make the filed plan unworkable.
