Limitations
- Decodes the standard ICAO/WMO groups. Remarks (RMK) and national groups are shown as written, not interpreted.
- Times are UTC as reported. The decoder does not fetch live weather — paste a current report from an official source.
- For briefing support only; the official report and the operator's procedures always take precedence.
How to read a METAR
A METAR is a routine aerodrome observation, normally issued every 30 or 60 minutes. Groups appear in a fixed order: station, day and time (UTC), wind, visibility, runway visual range, present weather, cloud, temperature/dewpoint and pressure, followed by any trend. A TAF is a forecast for a validity period and adds change groups such as FM, BECMG, TEMPO and PROB30/40.
