Aircraft ground handling at Jordan's airports, coordinated by LFS

LFS coordinates handling at Amman Queen Alia, Amman Marka and Aqaba King Hussein through the airport operators and the in-airport ground handlers. Diplomatic, charter and humanitarian relief movements are all handled with single-window coordination.

Who does what at Jordan's airports

Queen Alia International is operated by Airport International Group (AIG). Amman Civil Airport (Marka) and King Hussein International in Aqaba have their own operators. At each airport, ground handling is provided by the handler authorised there. LFS is an independent trip-support and dispatch company: we do not operate the airports or the handlers. We send the request, confirm the services and keep them aligned with your CARC permit, fuel and crew plans.

Our Jordan coordination covers Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) permit overlay, fuel uplift, ramp and crew transport at AMM, ADJ and AQJ.

Airports covered

  • Amman — Queen Alia International (OJAI / AMM)
  • Amman — Amman Civil, Marka (OJAM / ADJ)
  • Aqaba — King Hussein International (OJAQ / AQJ)

Queen Alia International (OJAI)

Jordan's main international airport, south of Amman, used by airlines, cargo, charter and business aviation. Station detail is on Amman OJAI ground handling.

Amman Civil, Marka (OJAM)

Closer to central Amman, Marka is used for some general aviation, charter, training and government traffic. Whether it suits a particular aircraft and flight, including operating hours and customs availability, is confirmed against current information.

King Hussein International, Aqaba (OJAQ)

Aqaba serves the Red Sea coast, Wadi Rum and Petra tourism, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone. It is used for tourist charters, business aviation and some cargo.

Services we coordinate

  • Arrival and departure ramp handling, marshalling and parking
  • Ground power, air start, pushback and towing where needed
  • Passenger and crew processing, customs and immigration coordination
  • VIP passenger arrangements where offered at the airport
  • Lavatory and potable water service
  • Cargo acceptance and loading coordination
  • Catering delivery coordination
  • Crew transport and hotel bookings

Permits from CARC

Non-scheduled flights landing in or overflying Jordan need permission from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission. Documents and notice depend on the flight type and operator. See Jordan overflight and landing permits. Permits are granted by the authority and cannot be guaranteed by LFS.

Diplomatic, government and humanitarian flights

Jordan regularly receives diplomatic, government and humanitarian relief flights. These often need diplomatic clearances, coordinated protocol arrangements and, for relief cargo, specific documentation and handling. We pass these requirements to the authorities, airport and handler with the request. See diplomatic flight permits and humanitarian and relief flight support.

Whether a particular arrangement or timeline is possible depends on the authorities, airport and handler at the time. We tell you early if a request cannot be met as asked.

Choosing between Queen Alia and Marka

For most international business jets and larger aircraft, Queen Alia is the usual choice because it has full international facilities. Marka is closer to the city and can suit certain general aviation and government flights. We compare aircraft size, operating hours, customs and immigration availability and parking, and recommend the airport that fits the trip.

Fuel and crew logistics

Jet A-1 uplift is booked ahead of arrival with the fuel release on the trip sheet, through aviation fuel services. Hotels and transport for crew are booked in Amman or Aqaba through crew logistics. Crew entry requirements depend on nationality and are confirmed before departure.

How a request works

1. Send the flight details

Aircraft type and registration, schedule, routing, purpose of flight, passenger or cargo details and the services you need.

2. We check and request

We confirm the airport, handler and parking, prepare or check the CARC permit, and book fuel and crew logistics.

3. You receive one confirmation

A trip sheet showing the handler, parking, permit status, fuel release and crew arrangements, updated in writing if anything changes.

Information that speeds up a Jordan request

Complete requests move faster. Please include the aircraft's registration and insurance documents, operator details, purpose of the flight, maximum take-off weight and dimensions, passenger and crew numbers, any VIP or protocol requirements, cargo details including dangerous goods, fuel quantity and the planned time on the ground.

Tourism charters to Aqaba

Aqaba's position near Petra and Wadi Rum makes it a destination for tourist charters and private groups. Seasonal peaks can affect parking and handling capacity. We recommend sending series and group flights early with firm schedules, so handling and passenger arrangements can be confirmed for every rotation.

Security and approvals

Flights in the region can be affected by airspace restrictions and security measures that change at short notice. We check current notices and authority information when planning a Jordan trip, and tell you if a routing or schedule needs to change. Decisions on airspace, permits and security screening rest with the Jordanian authorities, and we do not claim otherwise.

Operators should also review their own risk assessment and insurance for the route. We can share the information we hold about the routing, but the operator remains responsible for the decision to fly.

Changes on the day

When an arrival time moves, the ramp, passenger services, fuel and transport all need to move with it. We update the handler and other providers together and confirm the new timings back to your crew in writing. If a change cannot be met, we explain why and suggest the nearest workable option.

Cargo and relief loads

Cargo and relief flights need weights, dimensions, loading equipment and any dangerous goods declared before the flight, together with the documents the authorities ask for. We confirm acceptance with the handler and airport before the operation is planned around it.

Onward routing from Jordan

Flights through Jordan often continue to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt or Europe. We plan the onward overflight and landing permits and the handling at the next stop together with the Jordan leg, so the whole trip runs from one file and every provider works from the same schedule. Airspace availability on some routes can change at short notice, and we check current information before each flight and tell you if the routing needs to change.

Where a trip includes both Amman and Aqaba, we arrange handling, parking and passenger services at each airport and keep the domestic leg aligned with the international permit.

Costs and invoicing

Handling charges are set by the handler and airport and depend on aircraft size, services and time on the ground. We do not publish fixed prices. You receive an estimate when we review the request; the final invoice reflects the services provided. Credit account holders can receive handling, fuel and permits on one LFS invoice.

Who uses this service

Corporate flight departments, charter operators, government and diplomatic operators, humanitarian organisations, cargo operators and brokers who want one contact for Jordan.
