Abu Dhabi · OMAD
AZIAl Bateen Executive Airport · Arabian Gulf
Al Bateen is the only dedicated business-aviation airport in the UAE — no commercial traffic, no congestion, downtown Abu Dhabi in 10 minutes.
OMAD exists to keep VIP and corporate movements off OMAA (Abu Dhabi International). LFS bases here because the field's single-runway exclusivity removes the slot risk, taxi delays, and security friction that come with shared commercial operations. Heads of state and Falcon-class operators that need door-to-door inside 25 minutes from cabin to UAE Presidential Palace use Al Bateen exclusively.
Operations notes
OMAD has one runway (13/31) and no commercial traffic — apron congestion is non-existent and every stand is wide-body capable. The Royal Jet FBO complex anchors the field with three terminal lounges (Royal, VIP, Standard) and a heated hangar that accepts BBJ and ACJ-class aircraft.
Operating hours are continuous. Customs and immigration are co-located with the FBO and average under 5 minutes for crew. Approaches are ILS RWY 13 and RNAV RWY 31; visibility minima rarely breach due to the field's coastal position and absence of inland dust uplift.
Security screening is discretionary for protocol movements — Royal Jet and LFS coordinate UAE Presidential Court protocol officers airside for state movements. Standard charter and corporate traffic uses the dedicated VIP lounge with car-to-aircraft transfer.
No slot coordination. Movement confirmation against stand booking only. Peak demand windows (08:00–10:00 LT for corporate departures, 17:00–19:00 LT for arrivals) are absorbed by the 30-stand apron with zero queue. LFS books stand and FBO lounge in one transaction.
UAE visa-on-arrival applies to 100+ nationalities. Crew use an expedited lane (sub-3-minute clearance). Passenger luggage is screened curbside in the VIP lounge — no terminal walk. Tech-stop passengers may remain on board with one door open.
Jet A-1 supplied by ADNOC Distribution via bowser to all stands. Pricing is among the lowest in the UAE due to direct ADNOC FBO contract. LFS issues fuel release within 30 minutes of upload request on prepaid or card-on-file accounts.
Rosewood Abu Dhabi, St Regis Saadiyat, and Emirates Palace are 10–15 minutes from the FBO. Royal Jet operates a crew lounge with rest rooms for tech-stop crew. UAE GCC e-Visa supports all standard categories.
Weather & seasonal factors
Summer (June–September) brings 45°C+ surface temperatures with reduced takeoff performance — LFS includes a hot-and-high performance brief for high-MTOW departures. Shamal dust events occasionally drop RVR; coastal location keeps recovery faster than inland fields.
