What this page covers
Kuwait Aviation Services Company (KASCO) is one of the ground handling providers at Kuwait International Airport, alongside Kuwait Airways' own handling. LFS is an independent trip-support and dispatch company: we are not KASCO and do not operate the airport. We book and coordinate handling for operators, together with the permits, fuel and crew logistics around the flight.
Our Kuwait coordination covers ramp, passenger, cargo, AOG and technical-stop turnarounds at KWI, with DGCA Kuwait permit overlay included. The handler used for a particular flight is confirmed when we make the request.
If you are looking for KASCO directly, for jobs or corporate information, please contact the company. This page is for operators planning flights.
Kuwait International Airport (OKKK / KWI)
Kuwait International, south of Kuwait City, is the country's only civil international airport. It serves airlines, cargo, charter, business aviation and government traffic, and a new terminal is under development. Station detail is on Kuwait OKKK ground handling.
Business aviation and VIP movements use the facilities designated for them, which we confirm for each flight. Terminal arrangements can change as the airport develops, so we check current information when the request is made.
Services we coordinate
- Arrival and departure ramp handling, marshalling and parking
- Ground power, air start, pushback and towing where needed
- Passenger and crew processing, baggage, customs and immigration coordination
- VIP and protocol arrangements where offered
- Lavatory and potable water service
- Cargo acceptance and loading coordination for freighter flights
- Catering delivery coordination
- Crew transport and hotel bookings
Permits from DGCA Kuwait
Non-scheduled flights landing in or overflying Kuwait need permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Documents and notice depend on the flight type and operator. See Kuwait overflight and landing permits. Permits are granted by the authority and cannot be guaranteed by LFS.
Technical stops and AOG
Kuwait sits at the northern end of the Gulf and can work as a technical stop on routes towards Iraq, Iran and the Levant. A tech stop needs fuel, handling and any crew arrangements booked in advance and matched to the planned ground time. See technical stop support.
For aircraft on ground situations, the duty desk can request handling, parking and logistics for engineers and parts outside office hours. What can be arranged depends on the airport, handler and authorities at the time.
Cargo flights
Freighter flights need weights, dimensions, loading equipment and any dangerous goods declared in advance. We confirm acceptance with the handler and airport before the flight is planned around it. See cargo aircraft ground handling in the Middle East.
Fuel and crew logistics
Jet A-1 uplift is booked ahead of arrival with the fuel release on the trip sheet, through aviation fuel services. Crew hotels and transport are booked through crew logistics. Crew entry requirements depend on nationality and are confirmed before departure.
How a request works
1. Send the flight details
Aircraft type and registration, schedule, routing, purpose of flight, passenger or cargo details and the services you need.
2. We check and request
We confirm the handler and parking, prepare or check the DGCA Kuwait permit, and book fuel and crew logistics.
3. You receive one confirmation
A trip sheet showing the handler, parking, permit status, fuel release and crew arrangements, updated in writing if anything changes.
Information that speeds up a Kuwait request
Complete requests move faster. Please include the aircraft's registration and insurance documents, operator details, purpose of the flight, maximum take-off weight and dimensions, passenger and crew numbers with nationalities, VIP or protocol requirements, cargo details, fuel quantity and the planned time on the ground. If any document is missing, we tell you straight away.
Government, corporate and VIP movements
Kuwait receives regular government, diplomatic, energy-sector and corporate traffic. Protocol arrangements, private passenger processing and vehicle access are requested with the handling so they are confirmed before the flight. For diplomatic clearances, see diplomatic flight permits.
Busy periods
Holiday periods, Ramadan and Eid, and major regional events can increase traffic and reduce parking and handling capacity. Some requests then need more notice. We tell you early if the airport cannot accept the flight as planned and set out the options, such as a different time or a nearby alternate.
Summer heat and aircraft on the ground
Kuwait has some of the highest summer temperatures in the region. Heat affects aircraft performance, cabin cooling and the comfort of passengers and crew on the apron. We ask the handler for ground power and, where available, air conditioning units, and plan boarding and fuelling times with the heat in mind. Long stays in summer may need extra arrangements, which we confirm with the handler before the aircraft arrives.
Changes on the day
When an arrival time moves, the ramp, passenger services, fuel and transport all need to move with it. We update the handler and the other providers together and confirm the new timings back to your crew in writing. If a change cannot be met, for example because parking or a service is not available at the new time, we explain why and suggest the nearest workable option so your team can decide quickly.
Onward routing from Kuwait
Many flights through Kuwait continue to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain or further afield. We plan the onward permits, overflights and handling together with the Kuwait leg, so the whole trip runs from one file. Airspace availability and restrictions on some routes can change at short notice, and we check current information before each flight.
Passenger arrangements
Corporate and VIP passengers usually want a quick and private arrival. We ask the handler for the passenger arrangements available at the airport, such as escort through formalities and direct vehicle access where permitted, and match them to the arrival time and passenger list. Passenger names, nationalities and any assistance needs should be sent with the request, as they affect what can be arranged.
For airline and charter passengers, terminal processing follows the airport's normal procedures, and we make sure the handler has the manifest and passenger numbers in good time.
Costs and invoicing
Handling charges are set by the handler and airport and depend on aircraft size, services and time on the ground. We do not publish fixed prices. You receive an estimate when we review the request; the final invoice reflects the services provided. Credit account holders can receive handling, fuel and permits on one LFS invoice.
Who uses this service
Corporate flight departments, charter operators, cargo airlines, government and energy-sector operators, airlines needing ad hoc support and brokers who want one contact for Kuwait.
